The Lex Acta legal blog was established during the early days of the pandemic, in the fall term of the 2020-2021 academic year at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC). The etymology of the name of our legal blog comes from the Latin language, where "Lex" refers to something legal in nature and "Acta" refers to a record of current affairs.

 

Thus making us UTSC's first undergraduate legal news provider. Our platform aims to provide undergraduate students with the opportunity to connect with like-minded students who are interested in the law and/or aspire to pursue a legal career, while sharpening their reading, writing and research skills, all of which are cornerstones for succeeding in law school and beyond.

Our contributors are very near and dear to us, and come from a range of disciplines such as Journalism, Political Science, Health Studies, Management and many more.
